How Do I Know What to Do?

Frequently Asked Question for Incoming 9th Graders:

How do I know if my son or daughter is Honors, Title I Reading, or ELL?

Answer:

At the June 13th Orientation Night check with Mr. McCann, the Director of Academics & Title I Services who will have a booth set-up in the Main Cafeteria to answer any specific questions you have on summer assignments.

Those students who will be placed in either Title I Reading or our ELL program will receive email notification early this summer.

Assabet Summer Assignments 2016

Follow the steps below for completion of your Summer ELA and Social Studies reading assignments:

  1. Find the tab above for the grade you will enter in the fall and read the books listed.
  2. Complete all summer reading assignments for your grade. Assignments are listed on the page for your grade.
  3. Use the Assabet Summer Assignments 2016 Checklist every time you complete an assignment.
  4. Pass in your completed Summer Reading Assignments to your ELA and Social Studies instructors on the first day of academics.
  5. 9th and 10th Grade students also need to log into Assistments (www.assistments.org) and complete the online math assignment before the start of academic classes.

In addition, there will be reflections and in-class assessments during the first weeks of academics in ELA and Social Studies classes based on the books you read. Success on these assessments will begin the school year on a positive note.
